SEASONAL FARM CREW MEMBER

Island Harvest Farm is a small-scale farm that grows and sells produce on Camano Island. We produce flavorful, high quality non-GMO crops by building the soil with natural inputs and crop rotations. Customers can find many of their favorites, plus something new to try at the roadside farm stand.

JOB DESCRIPTION Field crew members will perform all daily farm tasks as needed. Time will be split between the field and the pack shed. The majority of work requires the physical capability to contribute daily in a rigorous, fun, fast-paced agricultural setting.

Looking for part time crew member to work May-September. Wage is $17.15/hr

Farm Crew Essential Functions:

• Planting (hand transplanting and hand seeding)
• Post-harvest/wash station work (washing, bunching, quality control, packing)
• Washing harvest crates
• Cultivation, weeding and thinning by hand
• Hand Harvesting crops efficiently, safely and consistently
• Irrigation set-up (drip tape)

Skills and Experience:

• Previous farm or landscape experience is not required if you are able to take direction, learn quickly, ask for help/clarity as needed, and accept and act on constructive feedback.
• The ability to meet the physical requirements of the position, including repetitive work spent standing, bending, squatting, lifting heavy objects and kneeling in all weather conditions.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Reliable and responsible with an interest in food production
• Comfortable working independently and with a group
• Excellent attention to detail and good judgement regarding product quality control and food safety while operating in a fast-paced environment
